Wrap Up Show ! More news on EPL Masters' events with DJ Khalz !


For tonight's Wrap Up Show , DJ Khalz gives the listeners the highlights of what's been happening within this week. We will start with the most talked about of the week that is most certainly from last night's event, the EPL Masters Football Brunei Cup 2012.

The big event was graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister of the Prime Minister's Office as the Guest of Honour.


The four teams of EPL Masters are - Liverpool Masters led by Robbie Fowler, Manchester United Masters led by Andy Cole,EPL All-stars Masters led by Pierre van Hooijdonk and DPMM FC Masters led by Md. Ali bin Hj Momin.


Also attending the event were Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahman, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, HRH Prince 'Abdul Muntaqim and YAM Pengiran Muda 'Abdul 'Aleem. 

Besides over 1,000 local football fans who filled the majority of the blue seats covering the lower half of the stadium, the event was also attended by the prime ministers and other distinguished guests.



In last night's match, the All Stars Masters won the Cup by defeating Liverpool Masters in the final with the score 7-4. DPMM FC took fourth place in the tournament. The top scorers were Kevin Gallen, Regi Blinker and Robbie Fowler in a joint with 8 goals in their hands, or feet in this case. However, Blinker was dubbed the best player of this year's tournament. Legendary players who also joined the tournament were Steve McManaman, Vladimir Smicer, Patric Berger, Frank Lebouf and Faustino Asprilla besides our local favorites Endy Vyzunny and Md Brian Iman Bothwell.


The Crown Prince presented the medals and trophy to the winners but beforehand, Haji Hadi bin Dato Paduka Haji Iskandar was named the winner of a brand new Lexus CT200h for the lucky draw and presented to by his favorite players, Fowler and Cole. Unfortunately there was a confusion as 2 other ticket holders had the same ticket number as Hadi's and one of them almost came down to claim what he initially thought he had won.

Urban Street Team from Singapore provided last night's entertainment during the intervals and DJ Jenny Malai Ali kept the fans in high spirits throughout the game.

Last Monday's topic for the segment Love Oh ! Cinta : What was one of the most romantic thing you have ever done for your partner? And what was one of the romantic things that you have ever experienced yourself? There were a variety of answers given as each response have their own uniqueness and personal feel for why they were chosen.




Last Tuesday, the societal quest was led by DJ Jaz and DJ Khalz featuring DJ Faye who was our special guest from Pelangi FM. Together, they discussed about the topic- "The different ways people used to interact with each other then and now" or in Malay, "Perbezaan interaksi sosial diantara dahulu dan sekarang". 


The difference in the way people interact depends on their language, culture, the way they are raised and how they are taught. The types of interaction change from time to time depending on the changes in language, expressions, interpretations of meanings and culture.





For the local band/artist segment last Wednesday , we had Hebiimetaru on air with DJ Jaz and DJ Maxine ! The band was formed in 2007 and has 5 members- Arif, Afiz,Amil,Suep and Aziz whom all agreed on the name 'Hebiimetaru' which is a Japanese word for heavy metal. It was their first on air interview and the song played that night called 'My Legion' was their original which they considered as a motivational kind of song. Towards the end, they expressed their desire to work with international bands such as Inflates, Metallica and Arch Enemy.




Last Wednesday Night, the UBD FM Crews had the rare opportunity to attend the EPL Masters Football Brunei Cup 2012 first welcoming dinner for the arrival of the first batch Masters Legends to Brunei Darussalam.  The attendants were consisting of Andy Cole from Manchester United FC, Patrick Berger and Vladimir Smicer from Liverpool FC, and Steve Black from Masters Official. The welcoming dinner which started at 7.30pm and held at Radisson Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan was hosted by RBA (Royal Brunei Airlines) which the event was emceed by Nazry Arif, a representative from the RBA company itself. the guests for the night were also from the winners of RBA's Social Media Polo Competition "EPL Masters Challenge" on facebook, Twitter and Instagram.



More news on EPL Masters events, B-mobile had hosted a welcoming dinner for the English Premier League Football Brunei Cup Masters 2012 at Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong at 8pm.

Guest of Honour for the night was Acting Minister at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Hajah Adina Othman. Attending the dinner were B-mobile board of director, secreteries and management together with the winners of the EPL roadshow hosted by B-mobile sometime in early April. The ceremony began with Cheif Executive Officer of B-mobile's welcoming speech followed by a video montage regarding the happenings at the Roadshow. Fans and invited guests had their chance to get up close and personal with the EPL Masters Players.






The next day, Standard Charted Bank hosted a Meet and Greet Session with SBC customers today with 6 EPL Master players namely Steve McManaman, Robbie Fowler, Paul Parker, Andy Ritchie, Pierre Van Hooijdonk and  Regi Blinker. The session was held at The Empire Hotel Indera Kayangan Ballroom. SCB created alot of games and prepared prizes to be won for the event. such games we're doing push ups, singing and more.






In conjunction with the upcoming EPL Masters Kick-off which was held last night at the National Indoor Stadium, B.Mobile hosted a Gala Night Dinner for all the EPL Masters players and DPMM FC Masters Players. 


During the event, few EPL players were called up to the stage to entertain. Performance tonight ranged from the B-mobile Who's Got 


Talent winners to the Dance Competition winners. Jeff Winters was the emcee for the final event which was the 
Charity Auction.






Before the night ended, fans who attended tonight had the chance to take take pictures and communicate with the players both DPMM FC and EPL masters.
